Sowjanya Rape and Murder: Child Rights Panel meets family at Pangala, assures speedy justice

Belthangady, Dec 25: The members of state Child Rights Protection Committee on Monday December 24 visited the family of Sowjanya, the 17-year-old student who was found raped and murdered at Pangala near Dharmasthala in early October this year.
The family claimed that Sowjanya was murdered elsewhere and her body dumped at the spot where she was later found.

Daughter of Chandappa Gowda, Sowjanya was found brutally raped and murdered on October 10 at Pangala near Dharmasthala. Her body was found among the bushes in a forest area.

They informed that during the search operation for Sowjanya, the place where her body was found was checked thoroughly on the night she went missing. “How did the body appear the next day when we had already searched the same place the previous night?” the family members questioned.
